"Congress won 10 blocks in 'Kheda District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union elections, while BJP managed to win two seats. One seat was won by an independent candidate," poll returning officer B S Patel announced today.
The elections were held yesterday.
The Congress won Anand, Khambhat, Borsad, Thasra, Kathlal, Kapadvanj, Mahemadavad, Nadiaid, and Virpur seats along with one seat of promoters of the dairy. The BJP managed to win Matar and Balasinor seats, while Petlad block was won by independent candidate Tejas Patel.
Congress MLA from Thasra, Ramsinh Parmar, was re-elected chairman of KDCMPU for the third time as a panel supported by his party contested election under his leadership.

Parmar was earlier elected for the post of chairman in 2006 and 2009. This time he will have a stint of six years.
Two panels, one led by Parmar and another by Patel, had contested the election for new Board of Directors yesterday, where around 964 voters were registered.
