Opposition Congress today threatened that it would not deploy any counting agent in Nagaland on May 16, the date of counting, if no action was taken on its complaint of alleged "malpractice" during polling for the state's lone Lok Sabha seat on April 9.
In a letter to the Returning Officer, state Congress General Secretary S Supongmeren Jamir said the party had represented to the EC in New Delhi on April 28 regarding the "massive malpractices" during polling in Nagaland.
Congress candidate KV Pusa had also lodged a complaint with documentary evidences to the EC, the letter said.
"The party would not be in a position to send any agent on the day of counting till it was assured by the EC that action would be taken on its representations," it said.
