Cong workers hold protest over suspension of party MPs

Local Congress workers today demonstrated against the suspension of 25 party MPs from Lok Sabha, here.
Led by city president Vikas Thakre, the Congress corporators, Zilla Parishad members, office-bearers and members of various party cells participated in the protest held at Variety Square.
The displayed placards and shouted slogans denouncing the action against the MPs.
In an unprecedented action, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan yesterday suspended 25 Congress MPs for five days for repeatedly disrupting the proceedings of the House.
The opposition party has been demanding resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje over "Lalitgate" and that of Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with the Vyapam scam, causing repeated stalling of the proceedings in Parliament during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
