Congress today accused BJP candidate from Dausa Lok Sabha seat, H N Meena, former DGP of Rajasthan, of violating the Model Code of Conduct saying he was using a government bungalow for running political activities.
Meena, who got VRS from his services after his deputation in PMO office 97 days ago, had not vacated the government premises and was running for political office, PCC spokesperson Archna Sharma alleged.
In a statement, Sharma demanded the Chief Election Commission and state's Chief Election Office to ensure action against Meena for violation of the election code.
Meena was Rajasthan DGP during Congress' Ashok Gehlot's regime and was transferred twice when the BJP's Vasundhara Raje government came to power in December last year.
Later, he was shifted to PMO in Delhi as the security head. Recently, he joined BJP and was given a Lok Sabha ticket for Dausa constituency.
H N Meena's elder brother is Union Minister of State for Finance, N N Meena.
