Congress and BJP in Kerala today asked the government to take stern action against those responsible for 'threatening and humiliating' the Kerala University Students Service Director Dr T Vijayalekshmi.
KPCC President (In-charge) M M Hassan said that it was very shocking that a university teacher was insulted.
He also sought the intervention of Governor Justice (Retd) P Sathasivam on the matter.
He said the complaint of the teacher should be treated very seriously.
Hassan said there was criminal negligence by not taking any action on the part of Home department under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Governor should intervene to ensure protection to the teacher and alleged that activities of Students Federation of India (SFI), students wing of pro-CPI(M) which was behind the incident, would destroy the education system in the state.
Congress leader and opposition leader in the Kerala assembly Ramesh Chennithala also demanded arrest of those responsible for humiliating the teacher recently.
