Congress extends deadline of membership drive in HP

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today extended the deadline for its statewide membership drive by one month to June 15.
"The last date for congress membership which expired yesterday has been extended by a month till June 15," HPCC chief spokesman Naresh Chauhan said here.
According to Chauhan, the party had distributed around 5 lakh membership forms in all blocks of the state, out which 3.50 lakh membership, duly filled in all respects had been deposited at party office till yesterday.
"Congress party membership drive is progress in right manner in which full details of members, including address, phone number, signature and photograph have been given in the membership forms," he added.

Chauhan also said that the main highlight of Congress party membership drive this time is that two members from each block of state had made a contribution of Rs 250 each to party fund and it was for the first in the history of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee that such a gesture has been shown by its members.
