Though the BJP would formally announce the development tomorrow in Rajkot, the party leadership hinted about the development today.
"I can only say that entire Congress unit of Junagadh city is expected to join the BJP. They will join us during a press conference tomorrow in Rajkot," said Gujarat BJP spokesperson Vijay Rupani at a press conference.
The BJP won the 2004 elections and came to power in the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC).
However, during the 2009 elections, the Congress snatched power from BJP corporators by winning elections with a thin margin.

According to a local BJP leader, many JMC bigwigs are expected to join the BJP tomorrow.
"Though names have not been declared yet, it is expected that many Congress corporators and other committee chairmen are expected to join the BJP, which will further streghthen our party ahead of polls," he said.
