Leader of Opposition Abdul Mannan claimed that opposition parties wanted a discussion on price rise issue, but the government was reluctant to allow them to speak.
"For the last few days we have wanted a discussion on the floor of the House on price rise. But the state government is reluctant to do so and that is why we have decided to walk out. In the floor of the House we were not allowed to speak," Mannan said.
According to sources in the Assembly, when the decision was taken in the Business Advisory Committee meeting, the opposition parties, including Congress, reportedly did not oppose but when it was moved in the House, Mannan stood up and protested the decision.
"Why is the state government so afraid of letting the Opposition speak. They are trying to scuttle the voice of the Opposition," Left Front Legislative party leader Sujan Chakraborty alleged.
