Congress, not BJP, favours corporates: Amit Shah

Days after Rahul Gandhi branded the government as 'pro-rich' and 'pro-corporate', BJP president Amit Shah today sought to turn the tables on Congress saying that the Opposition party had favoured corporates while allocating coal blocks during the UPA rule.
"It is not BJP but Congress that is hand in glove with the corporates. The truth is that the corporates received direct benefits during allocation of coal blocks under the UPA rule," said Shah who is on a day-long visit to the state to address a party meet here.
Shah charged Congress with allocating coal blocks for mere Rs 3,000 crore. "We, on the other hand, raised Rs 2 lakh crore by transparent auctioning of 20 coal blocks," he said.

"Is it not true that Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi colluded with corporates and extended undue benifits to them? There were large irregularities in the 2G spectrum allocation also," he cliamed.
Shah said the UPA government gathered only Rs 8,000 crore from the auctioning of 2G spectrum but "we deposited Rs 1.9 lakh crore in the government treasury by auctioning just one-third of the spectrum".
