"Yeddyurappa is trying to prove his existence in BJP through this tour as his party has sidelined him", Congress leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah told a press conference here.

The Congress leader questioned the need for ministers and BJP legislators accompanying Yeddyurappa, who is now an MLA, during his visit to drought-hit areas.

He demanded that government issue without delay an order on its promise to write off Rs 25,000 loan availed by farmers from cooperative institutions.

Even after the government announced loan waiver twenty days ago, it was yet to issue the necessary order to give effect to the decision, he said.

Siddaramaiah claimed that the state might face assembly polls any time as the BJP government was likely to collapse in the wake of internal dissensions.

Siddaramaiah and KPCC President G Parameshwara have been called to Delhi by the party high command today to discuss poll preparations.
