Describing it as contrary to House convention, senior Congress leader Manas Bhuniya said during Mention Hour that the first half of the Budget session on any day had always been reserved for questions on the concerned department, budget for which would be presented on that particular day.
Unfortunately, though the budget for the Home (Police) department was placed today, the scheduled Question Hour in the first half began with questions on the Panchayat department, Bhuniya pointed out.
Bhuniya also pointed out that even though huge stocks of firearms and explosives were found in many places and which was a matter of concern, the chief minister failed to take any concrete step and ensure people's safety.
Bhuniya held the DMs and SPs of the districts concerned responsible for manufacturing of firearms and arms stockpiling in their areas.
"The chief minister visits districts from time to time, but no step has been taken to prevent manufacturing of illegal firarms and arms," the Congress leader added.
