"Our party will organise a big rally of farmers in the third week of this month on the issue of non-payment of crop insurance to Gujarat farmers who have faced a difficult year due to inadequate rains in the last monsoon," he said.
Date and place were yet to be finalised but the rally would be held in Saurashtra region, Kamat said.
"The state government has not given proper information to insurance companies. Farmers are likely to lose Rs 1,600 crore due to indifferent attitude of the state government," he alleged.
He also said that after taking over as in-charge of the state, he had come here four times.
"I have been meeting district leaders zone-wise and taking their feedback keeping in mind the next general elections," he said.
"Once that exercise is over we will chalk out a plan for Gujarat for next Lok Sabha elections," he said.
