"We will soon open such help cells in all the districts, blocks and at the state capital to help the people finding it difficult to fight against such companies," Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Jaydev Jena told reporters.
Stating that lakhs of poor depositors have been left to their fates allegedly by the state government, Jena criticised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for not coming to the rescue of the people.
He said the help cells would start functioning from the second week of July.
"The party would appoint lawyers to provide legal assistance to the chit fund victims," he said.
A large number of non-banking financial companies including Sharadha Group have allegedly collected an estimated Rs 2,000 crore from investors in Odisha on the pretext of paying them high returns at inflated interest rates.
