Allowing a petition filed by one P M Ramasamy, Justices S Tamilvanan and V S Ravi said that the petitioner's demand was fair and reasonable and the temple authorities could permit the same.
The petitioner submitted that during Kandha Sashti festival pilgrims arrive from various countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Sri Lanka. They observe penance for six days in Mandapams around the temple.
Besides this, the practice of anga Pradakshinam is also followed, after which they had to wait in long queues to offer worship to the main deity and they get tired or dehydrated.
He sought a direction to this effect for the benefit of the devotees here doing angapradakshanam.
