The action was initiated against constable Ritesh Puri after his character was not found to be proper, Superintendent of Police Ashish told PTI.
He said the constable indulged in indecent behaviour with nine-year-old daughter of his landlord on December 22 while she was alone in the house in Rajendra Nagar area of the city.
The girl told her parents when they returned home about the incident following which a complaint was lodged against the constable under various sections of IPC in Rajendra Nagar police station.
They said the new recruit has been already arrested and produced in the court from where he was sent to district jail under judicial custody.
