Two police constables were today arrested and a case registered against them for allegedly trying to extort money from a newly-married couple here.
According to Indirapuram police, the couple was yesterday sitting in their car outside a local mall when the two constables arrived on the scene and started threatening them with arrest for purported violations committed by them.
After thus harassing the couple, the constables allegedly took Rs 8,000 from them to let them off.
However, when the girl's father came to know of the incident, he filed a complaint with senior police officials who have now registered a case against the constable duo under Section 384 of the IPC.
