Constable held in connection with chain snatching incident

A constable attached to the Armed Reserve Battalion at Madurai has been arrested in connection with a chain snatching incident here, police said today.
The constable, Rajadurai, who has been suspended, had taken medical leave and had gone to Theni to meet his friend, police said.
When he was returning after meeting his friend last night, he allegedly snatched the woman's gold chain. Locals managed to overpower and nab him as he tried to escape on his two-wheeler, police said.
He was handed over to Theni Police, who registered a case.
