The constable identified as Javaid Ahmed fired from his service rifle yesterday under mysterious circumstances when he was on duty in the town, a police officer said.
He said that the Javaid was suspended and an enquiry has been initiated to find out the reason behind him the firing.
However, there are reports which said that the constable was in an inebriated condition when the incident happened.
