Consul General of Royal Thai visits Sri City

Consul General of Thailand in Chennai Krongkanit Rakcharoen led a team on a visit to Sri City Special Economic Zone here as part of exploring trade and business opportunities.
Rakcharoen accompanied by Consul-Commercial Jittima Nakamano, Trade Officer Lawrence Edward, visited Sri City at Tada situated about 120 kms from here yesterday, a press release said.
Sri City Foundation, President, Ramesh Subramaniam briefed them about the infrastructure and the features available at Sri City.
"I never imagined that it (Sri City) will be so big hosting these many international companies. I thank Sri City for assisting our Thai company Rockworth in running the business successfully.", the Consul General said.
"I would share my experience and observations of the visit with the potentail Thai companies interested in investing in India", she said.
The Consul General visited the factory of Rockworth at the SEZ engaged in manufacturing of office furniture.
According to website of Thailand embassy, bilateral trade between India and Thailand stood at USD 8.65 billion in 2014. India ranks 10th as export destination for Thailand and was the overall 16th trading partner of Thailand.
