Arunachal minister Kamlung Mossang on Wednesday said the consumer movement has been gaining momentum in the state and urged all stakeholders to help carry it forward.
"Honesty of traders is panacea to end grievances of consumers about availability of spurious products in markets," the Arunachal Pradesh Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs (LM&CA) Minister said here.
Mossang also launched the Facebook page, the WhatsApp and email contacts of the department to give a new thrust to the consumer movement, during a meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh Consumer Protection Council (APCPC) on Wednesday.
All stakeholders, including media, civil society organisations, NGOs, political parties and women must be involved to carry forward the consumer movement, he said.
"No law or rules would be useful unless all, including the officers, businessmen and consumers are honest, which alone would help implement the Arunachal Pradesh Consumer Protection Act, 1987 effectively," he added.
