Contract labourer dies due to asphyxiation in Jamnagar

A 29-year-old man working as contract labourer died due to asphixiation, while he was welding a gas pipeline, police said here today.
"Rameshbabu Nayak (29) died due to asphixiation, while he was welding a gas pipeline at Reliance's plant in Moti Khavdi area of the district on Wednesday," police sub-inspector M J Jalu of Meghpar Padana station in Lalpur taluka of Jamnagar district said.
The police has registered a case of accidental death based on the statement of the complainant who is the deceased person's co-worker Ravikumar Nishad, he said.
"Nayak, who was a resident of Kanalus village in Lalpur taluka, entered a gas pipeline to weld it, when gas in the pipeline made him lose his senses. He was taken to the Guru Govindsinh Hospital in Jamnagar," Jalu said, adding that doctors at the hospital declared that he had died.
The police has not named anybody as accused in the case, since it is a case of accidental death, he said.
