Convention centre to come up in Thane soon: Maha Minister

Maharashtra Public Works Department Minister Eknath Shinde has said the state government would soon set up a "state-of-the-art" convention centre in the city.
The centre would be set up in association with Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), Shinde said at a function last night after inaugurating the Thane chapter of JITO.
"The convention centre would be set up in order to encourage trade and industry. We would like to see international exhibitions, meetings and seminars being organised in the city," said Shinde, who is also the Guardian Minister for Thane district.
