Cliche formats have always plagued cookbooks, a genre which has seen little or no experimentations in publishing, according to celebrity chef Vikas Khanna.
"Cookbooks have always had a calculated format. Books written by chefs a decade back almost had similar things written in different ways. The genre hasn't been explored at all but now things are changing," he told PTI on the sidelines of the ongoing Jaipur Literature festival.
Khanna's book titled "Masterchef India Cookbook" was launched at the festival today.
The Michelin-starred chef, restaurateur and filmmaker became a famous name in the US after the success of hos Indian restaurant 'Junoon' that he established in 2005 in Manhattan.
In 2011 he hosted popular TV show the 'Master Chef India Season 2' and soon after became a household name in India.
The newly launched book is a compilation of the best recipes shared by contestants during the three seasons of Master Chef.

All the 36 contestants were made to cook their best dishes they shared on the show again and we captured their images and recipe to take it to every household kitchen, added Khanna.
The book also has images depicting memories shared by the contestants during the three seasons of the show.
Khanna, however said, he hasn't decided yet whether or not to document the recipes of the fourth season in a revised version of the book or a separate book.
