Rajasthan Government today said that the flower market in Pushkar of Ajmer district will soon get a cooling chamber to keep the flowers fresh.
BJP MLA Suresh Rawat during Question Hour of the budget session of the state Assembly alleged that tailor shops were running in the flower market of Pushkar as there was no proper infrastructure for flower growers.
He also said there was no "phool mandi" (flower market) in Phulera of Jaipur district.
Rawat further claimed that reply made by Agriculture and Marketing Minister Prabhu Lal Saini was "wrong" and officials responsible for providing 'wrong reply' should be punished.
Saini, in his reply, said the flower market in Pushkar was being used for drying flowers and petals and a cooling chamber would be set up soon for storing fresh flowers.
Sixty-five plots were allocated for Pushkar Krishi Upaj Mandi, he said, adding that in the absence of infrastructure, the big businessmen were buying flowers directly from farmers.
Saini told the House that a Mega Food Park was approved by the Central government at Roopangarh in 2011-12, and it would come up in 50-acre land.
To another question of Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasar, the state Industires Minister Gajendra Singh Kheenvsar said the Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) was not being divided and seven of its subsidiary were not practically viable.
