"The final stage of production of the demountable stands, with storage space below for TV rooms etc, is on in China. We are looking at between 90 and 100 days from now (for the stands to be erected)," said Western India Football Association's CEO Henry Menezes.
Menezes was confirming the statement of All India Football Federation's general secretary Kushal Das earlier in the day at a media interaction in Navi Mumbai that the Cooperage ground would not be ready to host any I-League games before November.
The I-League is set to start in mid-October, as per indications, and if that is the case then the first three to four games may not be held at the Cooperage ground, according to Menezes.
The stadium has undergone a total overhaul with the age-old stands being razed to the ground and a new artificial playing surface, fully funded by FIFA, installed as part of game's world governing body's plans for India.
As the stadium was in the revamp mode, no I-League matches could be held at the Cooperage last season.
