Balwant Singh (28) and Mahesh were on vehicle checking duty last night when the truck hit them and fled from the spot, they said.
While Singh died on the spot, Mahesh was admitted to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding truck driver, they added.
