Former inspector-in-charge of Nemala police station Jyotiranjan Gouda has been placed under suspension after it was revealed that he registered a fake accident case and helped the so-called victims of it to procure a forged injury report in order to get insurance benefits.
Based on an inquiry report submitted by the Central Range IGP, state DGP K B Singh today suspended Gouda for his dubious role and criminal intent.
The DGP has also ordered Cuttack rural SP to submit draft charges and memo of evidence against the tainted police inspector immediately.
His son and two other occupants of the vehicle have sustained grievous injuries, the FIR said.

Registering a case, the then IIC Gouda entrusted the case to sub-inspector Jayshree Ojha for investigation.
Suspecting the injury reports prepared by Salepur PHC doctor R K Nayak in the case, Ojha referred the injured persons to SCB Medical College and Hospital for re-examination.
Meanwhile, registering another case of criminal conspiracy, forgery and criminal intent against the doctor, the advocate and the vehicle owner, Salepur SDPO has entrusted the case to Human Rights Protection Cell inspector Arati Mishra to conduct a thorough investigation into it.
