"Manoj Kachchap, who was posted at the new police lines committed suicide, shooting himself with his INSAS rifle last night," deputy SP Arif Ekram told reporters here.
Ekram added that the jawan was rushed to the Giridih Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Prima facie, family problems might have been reasons behind the suicide, he said, adding, that Kachchap was a resident of Ranchi.
