The officer had entered the Vidhan Bhawan premises to obtain the video footage of attack on sub-inspector Sachin Suryavanshi by some MLAs on Tuesday.
Patil made the announcement during a debate in the Legislative Council on the issue of police officers entering the Vidhan Bhawan yesterday a day after the attack on Suryavanshi.
"The two officers, including this one, said they had come to obtain the video footage of the incident," Patil said.
However, the officer concerned was found to have entered the premises without a proper entry pass, the home minister said, while intervening in the debate on a breach of privilege notice by Congress MLC Bhai Jagtap.

Devendra Phadanvis (BJP) said members' sentiments were severe as police officers trespassing into the legislature premises without permission were allowed to go scot free while action was taken against some MLAs.
"Why is there separate law for the legislators and the police," he asked.
With all members on the feet demanding strong action against the policemen, Deputy Speaker Vasant Purke adjourned the House for the day.
