Copper, brass advance on firm demand

Copper and brass prices advanced at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist buying amid firm demand from industrial users.
While, nickel, tin, lead and zinc slumped following poor offtake from alloy industries.
Copper sheet cuttings gained by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 346 from Wednesday's close Rs 342.
Copper armiture and copper utensils moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 351 and Rs 330 as compared to Rs 348 and Rs 327 previously.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 365, Rs 359 and Rs 393 as against Rs 363, Rs 357 and Rs 391 respectively.
Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 276 and Rs 281.
However, nickel prices fell by Rs 14 per kg to Rs 760 from previous close Rs 774 and tin prices dipped by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 1,402 as against Rs 1,410 previously.
Lead prices declined by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 134 against Rs 138 and zinc moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 192 as compared to Rs 194 previously.
