Copper, brass gain on global cues

Copper and brass prices gained slightly at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid mild demand from industrial users on the back of higher London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.
Meanwhile, nickle, zinc, lead and aluminium declined owing to subdued offtake from consumers users.
On the global front, the industrial metal copper struck its highest in 10 days in eartly trade at the LME and was poised for a weekly rise, as traders bet on improving demand from China and a potential fall in mine supply later in the year.
Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper utensils, copper sheets cuttings, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings all inched up to Re per kg to Rs 436, Rs 431, Rs 411, Rs 427, Rs 317 and Rs 326 respectively.
While, tin fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,370 from thursday's closing level of Rs 1,375 and aluminium utensils moved down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 127 as compared to Rs 130.
Zinc edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 168 as against to Rs 170 yesterday and aluminium ingots and lead softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 158 and Rs 133 respectively.
