Copper traded Rs 2 per kg lower at the local non-ferrous metals market today on a weak global trend.
Traders attributed the fall in copper prices to a weak global trend where the metal fell for the second time in three days ahead of China's July industrial production and retail sales data to be released tomorrow.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months retreated 0.5 per cent to USD 6,960 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap shed Rs 2 to Rs 428 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 111-117, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,086-1,092, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 428, Chadri deshi 285.
