Copper falls on reduced offtake, global cues

Copper prices eased by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today due to sluggish demand from consuming industries amid a weak trend overseas.
Traders said besides, muted demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, weak trend overseas mainly led to the decline in copper prices.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three month retreated 0.3 per cent to USD 4,496 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
In the national capital, copper scrap shed Rs 2 to Rs 339 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 90-96, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 817-822, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 339, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 76, lead imported Rs 82, aluminium ingots Rs 144, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 140, aluminium wire scrap Rs 140 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 138.
