Copper futures traded 0.80 per cent lower Tuesday as speculators cut positions at prevailing levels even as the metal strengthened overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February 2019 contracts fell by Rs 3.50,or 0.80 per cent, to Rs 435.30 per kg with a business turnover of 671 lots.
The fall in copper prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and subdued demand at the domestic spot markets, traders said.
