In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 1.70, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 388.50 per kg in a business turnover of 5,927 lots.
Metal for delivery in far-month June also rose Rs 1.50, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 392.50 per kg in 53 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm trend at the domestic markets following pick up in demand from consuming industries and strength in metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
