Copper futures traded 0.14 per cent higher at Rs 443.35 per kg today as speculators raised bets amid increased spot demand.
In futures trade, copper for delivery in the current month rose 60 paise, or 0.14 per cent, at Rs 443.35 per kg in a business turnover of 414 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June edged up by 50 paise, or 0.11 per cent, at Rs 448.30 per kg in 34 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in copper futures to widening of positions by participants amid pick up in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
