At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February rose by 80 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 377.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 589 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month April was trading higher by 75 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 380.90 per kg in seven lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly kept copper prices higher at futures trade.
