Copper falls by 0.4% as global trend weakens

Copper futures fell 0.41% to Rs 316.95 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in global markets.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November declined Rs 1.30, or 0.41%, to Rs 316.95 per kg in a business turnover of 1,596 lots.

The metal for delivery in February next year fell 90 paise, or 0.28%, to Rs 324.15 per kg in a business volume of 124 lots.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months traded loewr at $4,816.50 per tonne at LME from $4,823.50.
