Copper prices drifted down by 0.15 per cent to Rs 455.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced exposure amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November fell by 70 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 455.50 per kg in a business turnover of 8 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August was trading lower by 65 paise, or 0.14 per cent down, to Rs 450.10 per kg in 1,067 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by traders on the back of slump in demand from consuming industries in the physical markets, mainly attributed the slide in copper prices at futures trade.
