At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August drifted lower by Rs 2.05, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 378.60 per kg in a business turnover of 82 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in June declined by Rs 2, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 375.15 per kg in 2,078 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by traders on the back of muted demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly led to decline in copper prices at futures trade.
