Copper prices went down by 0.95 per cent to Rs 435.75 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April fell by Rs 4.20, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 435.75 per kg in a business turnover of 5,881 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June was trading lower by Rs 4.05, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 440.40 per kg in 83 lots.
Analysts said, offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market, led to a decline in the copper prices at futures trade.
