Copper futures were up 0.16 per cent at Rs 398.65 per kg today as speculators enlarged bets, largely in step with a firming trend in base metals at the domestic spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February rose 65 paise, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 398.65 per kg, in a turnover of 552 lots.
Metal for delivery in far-month April also edged higher by 60 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 401.65 per kg in three lots.
Analysts said gains in copper and other metals on rising demand at the domestic spot markets influenced metal prices at futures trade here.
