Copper prices moved up by 0.30% to Rs 416.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month November traded higher by Rs 1.25, or 0.30%, to Rs 416.25 per kg in a turnover of 797 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm global trend after a gauge of manufacturing for China, the biggest consumer of industrial metals, beat estimates.
Globally, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.70% to $6,764.75 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
