Copper, nickel weaken on global cues

Prices of copper and nickel declined by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today largely on weak global trend.
Traders said sentiment turned weak after copper slid in global markets amid worry that European economies are slowing down and Germany is heading for recession.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months was down 1 per cent at USD 6,652.75 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 433 and Rs 1,090-1,096 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,090-1,096, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 433, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 107, Lead imported 105, Aluminium ingots 166, Aluminium sheet cutting 167, Aluminium wire scrap 169 and Aluminium utensils scrap 166.
