Traders said buying activity in copper picked up after it advanced in overseas markets as some investors said the metal was oversold after signs of slowing demand in China led to the biggest two-day slump in 28 months.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months gained 0.7 per cent to USD 6,695.75 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap recovered by Rs 2 to Rs 436 per kg.
