Copper slides on subdued demand

Copper prices eased by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.
Traders said sluggish demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend mainly led to the decline in copper prices.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months was little changed at USD 5,949.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 to Rs 408 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 1,057-1,062, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 408, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
Lead ingot Rs 99, Lead imported Rs 100, Aluminium ingots Rs 158, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 159, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 161 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 158.
