Copper softens on muted demand

Copper prices declined by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous market today largely on subdued demand.
However, other base metals traded in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled at last levels.
Traders said sentiment in copper turned weak largely due to weak demand from consuming industries.
Globally, copper for delivery in three-month fell 0.8 per cent to USD 4,850 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap fell by Rs 3 to Rs 360 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 98-104, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 838-843, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 360, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 85, lead imported Rs 91, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
