Copper softens on muted demand, global cues

Copper prices eased by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to tepid demand from consuming industries amid weak global cues.
Traders said, besides easing demand from consuming industries, a weak trend overseas as inventories in LME warehouses jumped and the dollar steadied at higher levels, mainly weighed on copper prices.
Globally, copper for delivery in three-month delivery ended 1.21 per cent lower at USD 6,668 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange yesterday.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap shed Rs 2 to Rs 363 per kg.
Following are today's metals' rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 780-790, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 363, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 110, lead imported Rs 116, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
