Copper softens on reduced offtake

Copper turned weak and prices fell by Rs 4 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
Traders said besides subdued demand from consuming industries, reports of a weak global trend mainly kept pressure on copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap declined by Rs 4 to Rs 370 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 900-905, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 370, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 96, Lead imported Rs 102, Aluminium ingots Rs 150, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 146, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 146 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 144.
