Copra Alapuzha surges on heavy stockist demand
Press Trust of India Mumbai Copra office Alapuzha prices surged in an otherwise sluggish spices market here today due to hectic offtake from stockists and retailers.
Elsewhere, copra edible gained further on firm demand from upcountry buyers and millers amidst adequate arrivals from producing belts.
Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled steady in the absence of any major buying activity.
Copra Office Alapuzha climbed by another Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 13,000 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 12,000.
Copra edible moved up by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 14,000 as against Rs 13,800 yesterday.
